High school basketball coach Melonie Martin accused of biting fellow coach
Police say South Cobb High School basketball coach Melonie Martin assaulted another coach.

A Cobb County basketball coach has been benched following allegations of a nasty fight.

Melonie Martin, who also coaches track, was arrested for battery and terroristic threats after police say she bit a fellow coach at South Cobb High School.

According to the arrest warrant, Martin was extremely upset with Coach Tyrone Harris and while they were ”standing forehead to forehead, she bit him on the upper eye and nose.

The warrant states that other coaches in the school witnessed the confrontation and reported that Martin also threw a chair at Harris and told him ”I'll beat your [expletive] and knock your teeth out of your face.

Reggie Roberts was at South Cobb High to pick his nephew up when he heard about Martin's arrest.

”As a coach, you're supposed to be a role model for the players, and if this is what they're seeing, it's not good," said Roberts.

Martin has bonded out of jail. School officials would not comment on the situation saying it's a personnel matter.
