Gwinnett County police have arrested a man on child cruelty and drug possession charges.

Detectives say that a child at the home where 33-year old Timothy Waldrop was staying drank a water bottle containing a clear liquid.

A police report says Waldrop told the toddler's father the liquid contained GHB or the "date rape" drug.

Waldrop was arrested a short time later.

The child was taken to Scottish Rite. The condition of the child Is not known.
