Griffin Marine Christopher Rodgers Killed in Afghanistan

A young Marine from Griffin has died serving his country in Afghanistan.

Lance Corporal Christopher Rodgers -- 20-years old -- died Wednesday while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Rodgers was a graduate of Spalding High School and was a member of the school's junior ROTC for four years.

Students at the school held a moment of silence in his honor Friday moing.

Rodgers was based out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
