MODEL Kate Upton has broken up with her boyfriend of six months.

Upton, best known as a cover girl for Sports Illustrated, has called it quits with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, a star of the US version of Dancing With the Stars.

According to the New York Post the couple split over scheduling issues: “They never saw each other,” said a source.

Chmerkovskiy spent most of his time in LA during the relationship, while Upton lived in New York.

The 21-year-old model has branched out in to acting, starring alongside Cameron Diaz in the upcoming comedy The Other Woman.

According to E-Online the relationship with Chmerkovskiy was never very serious, a source telling the entertainment news site it was "more like friends-with-benefits than anything else."

Chmerkovskiy’s rep told the Post, “I never discuss his personal life.” A rep for Upton didn’t retu a request for comment.
