Giant baby weighing a whopping 14.77 pounds born to mother of nine - in just 15 minutes
An Indian mother has given birth to the country's heaviest baby - a whopping 14.77lbs boy.
Firdous Khatun, 36, welcomed her ninth child at Raja Ram Kalawati Hospital in Orai, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday night.
Despite the baby's big size, he surprised medics by coming out smoothly in a normal delivery which took just 15 minutes.
Doctors who have confirmed him as the heaviest baby ever bo in India are calling him a 'miracle'.
Mrs Khatun, who weighs 168lbs, had given birth to all eight of her children at home.
But her husband Kadir Raza, 40, was forced to rush her to the nearest hospital after she began giving birth to her huge son. All her previous babies weighed a normal 8lbs .
Dr Anjana Gupta, who delivered the child, said: 'He is a miracle baby. In my 21 years of experience, I had never seen a new-bo as big as him.
'We could not believe how, despite his big size, he smoothly came out.
'Though his shoulders got stuck for few seconds, within three minutes he was in my hands. He was so big that he was not fitting in my hands. He is a beautiful baby.
Though he had respiratory issues initially, both he and his mother are now doing fine, medics said.

Mrs Khatun is not diabetic, which is usually what causes obesity in new-bo infants, Dr Gupta continued.
She added: 'We do not know why the baby is so big but he is healthy and all his parameters are fine.'
The baby has been referred to Vatsalya Hospital where is being kept in the Child Care Unit.
Doctors at the hospital are monitoring his developments and expect to discharge him in around five days time.
Last month, MailOnline reported on the story of Goga Bai, of Rajasthan, who gave birth to India's then-biggest baby.
Her son was bo via C-section weighing a staggering 13.16lbs (6kg).
However, doctors said the boy's large size was likely linked to his mother's diabetes.
Now, Mrs Khatun's son has taken the record for the country's biggest baby.
