Giant 8ft wide vortex appears in lake
This is hypnotic (Picture: YouTube/usacetulsa)

If you’re not hypnotised by the end of this video then you’re immune just like those kids from The Demon Headmaster.

It shows an eight foot wide intake vortex that sprung up in Lake Texoma, in the United States, following a flood.

The mesmerising effect was created when flood water entered the Denison Dam spillway after it was ‘released from the reservoir through flood control gates.’

‘Just like in your house when you fill a bathtub full of water and [open] the drain, it will develop a vortex or whirlpool,’ BJ Parkey, assistant lake manager, told Business Insider.

But make sure you don’t get too close as the powerful vortex can suck in a boat, the US Army waed.
