Georgia woman Angie Stockton gives birth to her GRANDSON after IVF treatment
Krista Saxon, of Georgia, was unable to carry the baby through pregnancy herself so her mother Angie Stockton stepped up, agreeing to act as a gestational carrier. Baby Tucker spent nine months inside the womb of his grandmother, before arriving on Saturd

An Athens woman gave birth to her own grandson.  Angie Stockton served as a gestational carrier for her daughter, Krista Saxon, who was not able to carry her baby through pregnancy.

Stockton gave birth to healthy little Tucker Saxon on Saturday. He weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces.

The 45-year-old had to brush up on what to expect.

"It's been 26 years since I've been pregnant. I've forgot a lot of things. So she had to tell me what to expect. It's funny because she's the one who ended up with a lot of the pregnancy symptoms," said Stockton.

It is believed to be the first time in Georgia and only the fourth time in the U.S. that a grandmother acted as a gestational carrier for her grandchild.

"As a mother, that's something I wanted to do," Angie Stockton said.

The pregnancy sparked some questions.

"People would come up and say, ‘Oh you're expecting.'  And I would say, 'Yes, I'm carrying my grandchild.' And they would say, 'Do what,'" said Stockton.

The new parents said they were grateful for the new love.

"I was just tickled that he was here and healthy. But I was also thinking about putting him in a ball uniform, getting him on a ball field one day," said Trent Saxon.

The Saxons say that if they choose to add to their family in the future, they will most likely adopt.
