Police: Georgia teen wounded by shots fired into home

Savannah police are investigating the shooting of a teenager wounded by bullets fired into his grandmother's house while he slept on the sofa.

Savannah-Chatham County police say the 13-year-old boy was asleep when he got shot after 2 a.m. Saturday. Police said he suffered injuries to his shoulder and jaw, but the wounds were not considered life-threatening.

Detectives and patrol officers spent most of the night scouring the area for clues. The shooting happened in 1 of Savannah's south-side neighborhoods.

Police said the wounded boy lives in neighboring Pooler, but his name was not released.
