DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. - Authorities in the Florida Panhandle have charged a 21-year-old man with murder in the death of a Georgia teenager.

The Walton County Sheriff's Office says the teen's mother reported her 15-year-old daughter missing Thursday afteoon. The mother told authorities the girl had not retued from a walk with an acquaintance she met while on vacation.

The teen's body was found in Seagrove Beach. The victim has been identified as Courtney Wilkes of Tombs County, Ga.

The sheriff's office said Friday that Steven Anthony Cozzie of Santa Rosa Beach is charged with murder.

Cozzie is being held without bail. Jail records did not show whether he was represented by an attoey.
