Georgia Tech Student Robbed By Four Armed Men Inside Dorm Room

ATLANTA - Georgia Tech police said they are looking for four armed men who robbed a student inside a campus dorm room.

Authorities said the men robbed the student in a room on the fourth floor of the North Avenue Apartments south building around 10 p.m. Monday.

The student told police four men held him at gunpoint while they stole several items. Two of the men wore Halloween masks and a third wore a ski mask, according to police.

Witnesses told officers they saw the men drive south on Centennial Olympic Park in a white passenger car. The student who was robbed was not hurt.

Campus officials released a statement to GA Daily News saying, "While we have significant security measures in place for all of our campus housing units, we ask that students continue to play an active role in our safety efforts.

”This includes locking their doors, directing visitors/non-residents to the courtesy phones outside the gated areas, preventing unfamiliar individuals from tailgating into the building behind them and reporting any unfamiliar individuals to the resident assistant or campus police. As the investigation continues, there will be increased police activity in the North Avenue Apartments area," the statement concluded.

Anyone with information about the crime was asked to call Georgia Tech police at 404-894-2500.
