Police say a man has died in a Meriwether County car accident that left his wife and seven children injured.

The Atlanta-Joual Constitution (http://bit.ly/Un86O7) reports 30-year-old Victor Allen Moorer and his family were retuing from visiting relatives in Montgomery, Ala. at the time of the accident Thursday afteoon. Police say Moorer's 2003 Nissan Xterra left the roadway, overtued in a wooded area and the driver's side of the car struck a tree.

Police say 2 of Moorer's children, ages 11 and 3, were airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. Their siblings, ages, 10, 9, 7, 5 and a 9-month-old baby, have been treated and released. Authorities say Moorer's unidentified wife was taken to Piedmont Newnan Hospital and would be released.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
