Georgia man Jordan Hardesty working security at a party handcuffed woman, hit her in the face, deputies say
OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. — A 20-year-old Georgia man is facing kidnapping and assault charges after authorities say he handcuffed a woman while working security at a party.
According to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded early Sunday morning to a report of a disturbance at a home in Oconee County.
While investigating the incident, deputies say a woman told them she had been handcuffed by one of the party’s security guards, later identified as Jordan Hardesty.
Investigators said Hardesty was working as a security guard at the event but is not certified by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
The woman told deputies she had asked Hardesty and other security personnel to remove someone from the party, but they declined. She said an argument followed, during which Hardesty allegedly placed her in handcuffs and struck her in the face multiple times.
Hardesty was arrested and charged with kidnapping and assault and battery. He remains in custody on a $26,087.50 bond.
