HALL COUNTY, GA - Police say they eventually arrested a man in Gainesville after a brief standoff on Monday.

The incident began when authorities with the Hall County Sheriff's Office say they arrived to a home on Holland Drive to serve an arrest warrant to 33-year-old David Turpin for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police say Turpin refused to leave the home.

After trying to persuade him to come out of the home voluntarily, police say they eventually "utilized chemical agents to coax him from the house."

Turpin was taken into custody without further incident, according to authorities.
