Ga. Power lineman Steven Sellers electrocuted

Authorities say a Georgia Power Co. worker has been electrocuted while working on a line just east of Brookfield.

The Tifton Gazette reports that the accident happened along U.S. 82 on Tuesday.

Authorities identified the employee as 48-year-old Steven Broadus Sellers of Moultrie, who died late Tuesday night.

Tift County Coroner Steve Wood said Sellers and other Georgia Power crew members were trying to restore power Tuesday evening after a power line apparently went down because of weather conditions.

Wood said the line Sellers was working on somehow came in contact with a live line and he was electrocuted.

Lynn Lovett, Georgia Power's Tifton area manager, said that Sellers had more than 20 years of experience as a lineman, with almost four of those years with Georgia Power.
