An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death of a Macon police lieutenant whose body was found at a police training center.

The Telegraph of Macon (http://bit.ly/V671jl ) reports 49-year-old Lt. Mark Cotton was found dead at the Chief Ben T. Watkins Training Academy Sunday.

The Bibb County Coroner says Cotton's body was found between two buildings at the training academy, and police say they will not issue further information on his death until the autopsy is complete.

Cotton served as director of the training center and has spent over 27 years with the department. Authorities have not said whether foul play is suspected in his death.
