Fulton County Man Russel Baughcum Charged For Spanking Child
Russel Baughcum

A Fulton County man is facing battery charges after he allegedly spanked a child who was trying to grab his cat at the vet's office.

Russel Baughcum told police he was trying to pick up his cat, who had undergone surgery, when he noticed a woman's 4-year-old reaching for the animal.

He says he repeatedly told the boy to stop, but the child continued to try to grab the carrier, so he gave him a light swat.

Police say the mother admitted she was having trouble controlling her son, but insisted on pressing charges.
