A Sandy Springs doctor who was wanted on a number of charges has been arrested in Miami.

Police feared Dr. Kelly Thrasher had fled the country after he failed to show up for an arranged meeting with Sandy Springs detectives on Monday.

Thrasher was wanted on child molestation charges and charges of practicing medicine without a license. He had recently obtained a U.S. Passport under another name.

Thrasher was located by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday night at the Days Inn Hotel in the South Beach area. Authorities say he was carrying about $30,000 cash on his person.

Thrasher was taken into custody without incident. He is currently being held at the Metro West Detention Center in Miami. He will be extradited at a later time.
