Forsyth Co. deputies search for parents of boy found hiding

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the parents of a 10-year-old boy.

Deputies said Jonathan Frances was found hiding in bushes off Highway 9 near McFarland Tuesday around 11 p.m. He told deputies that he just moved to the area from New York a few weeks ago and does not know where he lives.

Deputies took him to several possible houses, but none panned out.

The Sheriff’s Office believes there may be a history of domestic violence in the boy’s home, which caused him to run away.

Nearly 12 hours since deputies found the boy, no one has come forward to claim him.
