Former MLB outfielder Darryl Strawberry sued for $3K fruit and veggie tab
It's ironic, given his last name, but Darryl Strawberry allegedly owes thousands of dollars to a guy who sold him a lot of fruit. The former MLB outfielder has been slapped with a lawsuit by produce vendor New V&J Produce Corp, which claims he and his now-shuttered NYC eatery Strawberry's Sports Grill skipped out on a bill for $2,694 worth of shipped fruits and vegetables. V&J is suing for payment of that sum, as well as $500 in attoeys' fees. That's a total of $3,194, which can buy an awful lot of strawberries. [Source]
