Former Georgia officer Daniel Peabody now suspected in deaths of 3 police dogs

WGCL reports that the remains of a third K-9 police dog have been discovered at the previous home of a ex-Georgia police officer.

This is the latest of three discoveries and comes a month after investigators found a K-9 that died from heat stroke inside former officer Daniel Peabody’s patrol car and two weeks after the remains of a second dog was found in his backyard.

After officials began investigating Peabody’s past, they found another dog buried at his previous Dallas residence.

The canine had been shot in the head and was not a police dog, but was believed to be Peabody’s pet.

The former lieutenant has been released on bond and the investigation is ongoing.
