Facebook is mad at employers who make job applicants reveal their site passwords as part of the hiring process.

In a statement, chief privacy officer Erin Egan says the site \"takes your privacy seriously\" and the \"practice undermines the privacy expectations and the security\" of users and their friends.

She goes on to say Facebook won't rule out legal action or even shutting down apps that abuse privacy rights.

It's a tough stance, but a laughable one to many users considering Facebook has settled complaints that allowed advertisers to access users' personal information without their consent in the past.

A dose of irony awareness seems to make the news go down easier.

Do you find Facebook's approach ironic?
