For Facebook users who usually access Facebook through a mobile browser, you will have to download the mobile Messenger app within the coming months.

Facebook has started forcing it's users who access the social network via a mobile browser to download its Messenger app if they want to continue chatting privately with friends. According to reports, Android users have been received a notice stating that Facebook is disabling the ability to view and respond to messages via a mobile browser.

It is possible to dismiss the notification for now however. According to TechCrunch, however users will have to download the Messenger app to view messages starting this summer.

Facebook says this change is an extension of the Messenger policy placed in 2014 which forced any users of the mobile Facebook app to download the messenger app separately for private chats.
