Gwinnett police say they arrested a 27-year-old woman for a crash that killed two people in last month.
Deputies say Jessica Peterson was driving drunk, with two children in her car, when the crash happened on Sept. 14.
Brandon Pellien, 29, and Steven Barco, 48, died on the scene.
According to the report, Pellien was driving on Gaett Street when he failed to stop for a stop sign at Buford Highway and entered the intersection
Police say Peterson was driving over the speed limit on Buford Highway in the left lane at the time and could not stop in time. Reports say she was driving 91 mph in a 45 mph zone. Peterson’s car hit Pellien’s car on the driver’s side, killing the two people inside.
Peterson and her adult passenger, Kristopher Peterson, both suffered injuries. A 9-year-old boy and 5-year-old girl were taken to Scottish Rite with non-life-threatening injuries.
After receiving the results of several tests, police took several warrants out against Peterson. She was arrested and taken to the Gwinnett County jail. She is charged with DUI, two counts of vehicular homicide and two counts of endangering a child while DUI.
Reports say Peterson’s BAC at the time of the crash was .147.
