Drunk father Jason Phipps arrested for letting teen daughter drive home
Police say a Georgia father has been arrested after letting his 15-year-old daughter drive her family home from a concert because he was too drunk.
Multiple news outlets report 43-year-old Jason Phipps let his daughter, who has a leaing permit, drive home from a Zac Brown concert in Alpharetta Saturday. Witnesses watched as the teen hit a parked Jeep and continued driving.
Police tracked the vehicle to a Milton home and were waiting when the family arrived. By then, Phipps was driving. Officers could smell alcohol and Phipps was arrested on DUI charges.
Police say because both adults in the car were under the influence of alcohol, the teen was not allowed to drive because they were not "fit" to exercise control of the vehicle. The teen was also cited.
