ATLANTA - Atlanta police say a man was killed when a huge oak tree fell on his car Tuesday moing following a round of severe storms that moved through north Georgia. Family members say Army veteran Chris Butler, 22, died when the tree fell on his Toyota Camry.

It happened on Tilden Street between West Marietta Street and Church Street. Butler’s body was discovered inside his car at about 8 a.m. Police say the tree was about 100 feet high.

Butler’s family members say they became worried when Butler did not make it to work on Tuesday. They say they used an Army sticker on his car and his license plate to identify him.

The downed tree also ruptured a water main, according to police.
