A Forsyth County sheriff's deputy has been suspended for having sex with a teen while on the job, the Sheriff’s Office said.

According to a 25-page inteal affairs report, Sheriff’s Lt. Todd Maloney has admitted to sleeping with the young woman on the job in April. Channel 2’s Eric Philips spoke to his 19-year-old accuser and her mother, but they declined to appear on camera.

According to the report, Maloney met the woman at the Laurel Springs subdivision in Suwanee. She was on probation at the time. The two began contact through text messages and phone calls, eventually meeting up at an abandoned subdivision, the report said.

”Lt. Maloney stated instead of being the person he should have been he gave in and after thought to himself, ‘This is absolutely wrong,’ the report said.

The teen filed a complaint in November after Maloney cut off communication with her. She later tried unsuccessfully to rescind the complaint.

Maloney has been suspended for 120 hours without pay. When he retus, he will be assigned to desk duty at the Forsyth County Jail.

”He made a bad decision. He’s obviously paying for that now, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tim House said.
