DeKalb County commisioners have said no to a plan to tu the Doraville GM plant into a mixed-use office complex.
CEO Burrell Ellis was pushing for the deal, which he said would have led to 9,000 construction jobs.
Ellis said the Atlantic Station-like facility would have been partially paid for with $36 million in federal stimulus funds. Another $50 million would have come from Florida developer New Broadstreet.
The commissioners made their decision shortly after noon. voting 5 to 2 to kill the plan.
