DeKalb Family Safe After Overnight Fire

A DeKalb County family says they’re lucky to be alive after fire swept through their home early Monday moing.

It happened at a home on Emerald Falls Drive. Firefighters were called to the scene around 1:30 a.m.

 

The family who lives in the house was not home at the time of the blaze. They tell reporters they were staying oveight at a relative’s house.

 

The family says they are hoping they can repair the damage that was done by the fire, and remain in the home they have lived in for decades.

 

No one was hurt in the fire, but the family says they are still looking for their dog, whom they hope managed to escape the blaze.

Firefighters say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
