DALTON, Ga. - Students and faculty at Dalton High School are mouing the loss of a teacher who died in a car crash.

Grief counselors are at the school to help students cope with the death of Demera Robinson.

School officials say the English teacher was killed in an auto accident Tuesday.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Superintendent of Dalton Public Schools, Dr. Jim Dawkins, said, "Mrs. Robinson was a vital part of our high school and we are keeping all of her family, including her parents Debbie and Danny Freeman, in our thoughts and prayers. We are a family at Dalton Public Schools and this is a sad day for our school district.

Robinson taught at Dalton High School for 12 years. For the past four years she was part of a program supporting students who are trying to be the first in their families to attend college.
