Coweta County Authorities Discover 200 Cats in Family's House

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - Coweta County authorities discovered more than 200 cats in one house.

For three days, county officials have removed numerous cats from what looked like a very typical home on Candlewood Drive.

Some of the cats were found dead in the freezer, others are sick with feline leukemia or respiratory diseases.

Sources tell FOX 5 that the house is so filthy that investigators had to wear hazmat suits to remove the remaining cats.

A local vet is taking pictures and examining them.

So far, 36 cat have had to be put down.

Three people reportedly live in the house. They all face misdemeanor cruelty to animal charges.
