Conor McGregor to have rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 200

Diaz shocked the world earlier this month by recording a second-round submission victory over the Irishman at UFC 196.

Earlier this week, McGregor, 27, revealed his desire to have a rematch with the Stockton native, who last-minute replacement for lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos.

"I think I'd like to see that, yeah," the Dubliner told TMZ.

"I mean, it's one that interests me, most certainly. You know, when I look at the fight I was winning the fight.

"I won the first round and a half, I feel. I'd love to get that one back. We'll see how it goes. Money talks. Life is good."

And according to well-respected MMA joualist Ariel Helwani, 'The Notorious' could get his hands on Diaz in July.

Helwani reported earlier today that top brass at the UFC are looking to stage a rematch between the trash talkers at UFC 200, which takes place on July 9.

Helwani also claimed the rematch would take place in the welterweight division.

The UFC haven't confirmed any fights for the card, which is expected to feature a number of the promotion's champions.

However, less than a fortnight ago, their president, Dana White, claimed McGregor was likely to fight at the event.

He said: 'In this business, it has to bu. It has to be a desire inside you to fight.

"Conor McGregor is a perfect example. This guy's going to tu around and fight on [UFC ] 200 again."

The news that McGregor could be fighting Diaz will be a hammer blow to Jose Aldo and Frankie.

The duo, 29 and 34 respectively, have been campaigning for fights with the featherweight champion since last December.

And now it seems the pair will have to wait a little longer to lock hos with 'Mystic Mac'.
