Congressman booted from House floor after hoodie stunt
\"I don't mind being out of order if it means standing up for truth and justice,\" Representative Bobby Rush (D-Illinois) said shortly after being kicked off the House floor for wearing a hoodie.
On Wednesday moing Rush, a former Black Panther and active civil rights advocate, addressed the House about the need to end racial profiling and to continue the investigation into the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
Rush then did a Superman-style costume change, removing his jacket to reveal a hoodie, which he pulled up over his head.
Rush was repeatedly gaveled by Rep. Greg Harper (R-Mississippi), who had him removed for violating the dress code. \"I would like to commend Congressman Rush,\" Martin's father said later. \"For pleading our case.\"
