College student killed in Carrollton's first homicide of 2016

Carrollton Police are looking for the person who shot a college student to death outside his residence at the River Point Apartments on Lovvo Road Wedneday afteoon.

According to Carrollton Police Capt. Chris Dobbs, Tyler Ford, 23, was shot to death after answering the door of his apartment around 4:30p.m. He was a senior at the University of West Georgia. 

"There were three roommates in the apartment when this happened," said Dobbs.  He says all three were in their separate rooms when they heard a commotion at the door and then a gunshot. 

 "It's just off campus and it's mainly housed with college students," said Dobbs.  He said he doesn't know though if the victim or his roommates, are current students at West Georgia University.

 Police don't have a description of a suspect or a motive in the shooting.
