ATLANTA -

A thousand public school children in Atlanta have brand new winter coats. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed joined Hyundai motors and Atlanta Public Schools to donate 1,000 coats to needy children in the city.

The project is part of Hyundai's "Coats for Kids" donation.

The coat delivery was made at Bethune Elementary School on Tuesday.

Hyundai's gift of a thousand  coats benefits students at those Atlanta Public Schools  where more than 80 percent of the student population receives some type of federal support.
