Clayton County bank robber has change of heart
Smiling man attempts bank robbery

A jovial man apparently had second thoughts about robbing a Clayton County bank and ran out without taking money, police said.

Surveillance cameras at the Wells Fargo Bank on Mount Zion Road in Morrow captured the man patiently waiting in line, approaching the counter and handing a teller a note that said he had a gun and wanted money, according to investigators.

Photos show the man with a wide smile as he presents the note and then takes it back before heading for the door.

Police said the man got into the passenger side of a dark color Mazda 626 with tinted windows.
Anyone with information is urged to call Morrow police at 770-961-4000.
