Clarkstown Woman, Daughter Raped, Suspect Mwamaratunga Pipole Charged
Mwamaratunga Pipole is charged with rape, robbery, burglary and aggravated sodomy.

Clarkstown police arrested a man accused of burglarizing an apartment and sexually assaulting a woman and her teenager. The 20-year-old suspect Mwamaratunga Pipole has been charged with with rape, robbery, burglary and aggravated sodomy on Tuesday.

Investigators say the suspect lives in the same apartment complex as the victims.

Clarkston police said that the 15-year-old victim was so terrified she jumped out of a second-floor window to get away.

Police found her mother and little sister hiding in an upstairs bedroom. Detectives say the mother had been raped and sodomized.

Both victims were treated at a local hospital, but investigators say they got the shock of their lives when they retued home to the apartments.  Police said that Pipole was relaxing in a chair when the two pulled up.

"The mom and daughter were retuing by taxi cab from the hospital. They observed the suspect sitting in a chair in front of an apartment. They then notified the police department," said Clarkston City Manager Keith Barker.

Pipole was questioned at Clarkston police headquarters and then transferred to DeKalb County Jail.

Pipole's mother told FOX 5 that she is from Burundi and does not speak English, but said through an interpreter that she will reserve judgment regarding her son until she gets more information. She said her son works at a chicken plant in Gainesville, has his green card and has been in the U.S. for about four years.

Clarkston police are checking with other agencies to see if this case is connected with any other sexual assaults and robberies around the metro area.
