Child shot in his own bed by drive-by shooter
An 8-year-old boy is recovering at a local hospital after police say he was shot in the back while asleep in his bed Tuesday night.
Fulton County Police Sgt. Scott McBride said the boy was in an upstairs bedroom. His mother and four other adults and children were home when someone fired multiple shots on Hassana Lane at about 11:30 p.m.
The child was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, and McBride was not sure of his condition late Tuesday night.
No one else inside the house was struck by gunfire, McBride said.
Police have not yet released any information on possible suspects, and are looking for witnesses to help in the investigation.
