Child Killer, Gregory Armwood, to Serve 1 Month in Jail

CLARKSTON, Ga.  - The driver of an SUV that struck and killed a 6-year-old girl whose family recently emigrated to Nepal will spend a month in jail as part of a plea agreement.

Gregory Armwood admitted to illegally passing a stopped MARTA bus and fatally hitting Suk Maya Mager in August 2009. Under the terms of the plea deal reached Wednesday, Armwood will serve probation for a year and his driving license will be suspended for a year.

Suk Maya and her mother, Rupa Monger, had just gotten off the bus when she was hit. The parents, who were from Bhutan, lived in a refugee camp in Nepal where the children were bo before the family came to the United States.
