Cherokee County Teen Vanessa White In Custody over Stabbing

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. -- A 17-year-old girl suspected in a stabbing is now in custody, said Cherokee County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jay Baker.

Vanessa White is accused of stabbing a woman at a home on Williamsburg Lane in Woodstock.

Baker said White is an acquaintance of a child who lives at the house were the stabbing occurred.

The victim, Maggie Fulton, 43, was stabbed twice in the back, investigators said. She was taken to Kennestone Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police said White fled the scene and was arrested two hours later at a nearby pool. Investigators used dogs to search for the teen.

Officials said the stabbing resulted from a dispute between the suspect, the victim and the victim’s two children.

White is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, burglary and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony and has been taken to the Cherokee Adult Detention Center, where she is being held without bond.
