Cherokee County Devonte Scott man allegedly stabs brother over money and drugs
A 20-year-old man is currently being help without bond after deputies say he allegedly stabbed his brother.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Department received a call around 2 a.m. on Wednesday on Madisons Way in Waleska.
When deputies arrived on the scene they found Derrious Scott, 24, in a bedroom with stab wounds to his arm and torso.
A lookout was given for Derrious Scott’s brother, Devonte Scott, 20 years of age, who reportedly stabbed him.
Both brothers live at the home with their mother on Madisons Way.
A deputy spotted Devonte Scott’s vehicle traveling on Belletta Drive in Canton, which prompted a traffic stop.
Devonte Scott was taken into custody, according to deputies.
At the time of his arrest, Devonte Scott had a significant amount of blood on his clothing.
A small amount of marijuana was also located in Devonte Scott’s possession.
Devonte Scott told deputies the altercation was over money and drugs.
Derrious Scott was transported to Kennestone Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Devonte Scott has been charged with aggravated assault and is currently in custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
