Charlie Sheen Wants to Be Lindsay Lohan's Mentor
His personal life might be as tempestuous as hers, but Charlie Sheen is reaching out to Lindsay Lohan.
The Anger Management actor thinks that he can 'save' the troubled star, saying that he has a 'kinship' with her and would like to act as her 'mentor.'
As the flame-haired actress gears up for her trial later this month, Charlie clearly thinks she needs all the help she can get, and he's the man for the job.
'I have a kinship with somebody [Lindsay] who clearly needs a mentor, whether she wants one or not,' the actor told TMZ.
'She can continue to hang out with her dress shredding club buddies, or tu to me for some advice from a guy who's been down the road as well as every other side trail on the jouey,' he added.
Sticking to his 'winning' mantra, he continued: 'If she listens, she'll win. If she doesn't, that's on her.'
The 47-year-old has struck up a friendship with Lindsay since the pair filmed scenes for the forthcoming Scary Movie 5 together.
Afterwards he admitted to giving her $100,000 after she allegedly didn't receive all the money she was supposed to be paid but admitted he regrets giving her so much after she used it to help pay her tax bill.
Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last month, he said: 'They offered me a decent amount of cash to do Scary Five as a cameo.
'Then they said they're going to hire Lindsay. I thought fabulous.
'They took half my money to give to her and she didn't get it all. And when I found this out I said, "You got shorted a hundred grand" so I gave it to her.
'I didn't know it was for taxes. If I'd have known that I'd have given her half.'
Gearing up for court: Lindsay will have to be back in court later this month for her trial
Back again: The 26-year-old will once again be in court on March 18 to face charges of reckless driving, lying to police and obstructing a police case for her June 2012 car crash in Santa Monica, Califoia
However, Charlie believes Lindsay is 'smart and super fabulous', and he is confident she will overcome her troubles.
He added: 'She's terrific, I mean she's going through a lot of stuff.
'She's smart and super fabulous and I think will come out on top eventually, you know.'
Lindsay is due to appear in court later this month charged for obstructing police by not revealing she was the driver in a 2012 crash.
The troubled pair are set to star together again as Lindsay is due to film a cameo in Charlie's hit FX sitcom Anger Management.
