Carroll County Man Cullie Mitchell Denny Shot in Head Still in Hospital
CARROLLTON, Ga. - 21-year-old Cullie Mitchell Denny who was shot in the head during a party at the home of a Carroll County commissioner remains in critical condition.
Authorities say Cullie Mitchell Denny was dumped in the woods Saturday by the man authorities say shot him in the head.
The Atlanta Joual-Constitution reports 21-year-old Zachary Sibley faces charges of aggravated assault and reckless conduct. He appeared in court Monday and didn't request bail.
The shooting happened at a party thrown by the son of Commissioner Kevin Jackson at the family home in Whitesburg. Jackson was out of town at the time.
Investigators haven't determined whether the shooting was accidental.
Because Denny's is the brother of a sheriff's deputy, the case is being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
