Boy George shows off dramatic weight loss
He was known for his plump figure but the 51-year-old was barely recognisable after shedding weight on new diet

It hasn’t exactly been the biggest secret in showbiz that Boy George has struggled to manage his weight in recent years.

But the 51-year-old stunned onlookers and photographers when he arrived on the red carpet last night.

He was attending the Whatsonstage.com Awards in central London when he showcased his dramatic weight loss.

The Culture Club star – real name George Alan O’Dowd – was almost unrecognisable with his cheekbones and jaw line clearly visible.

He wore a beige cap and an electric blue tie was loosely fastened around his baggy black shirt, complete with his trademark coating of make-up.

Boy George revealed the secrets behind his radical change on Twitter as part of a strict nutrition plan.

He wrote recently: 'Portion control. 5 hour gaps between meals. No coffee or tea, except at meals. Water & fizzy water between meals!

Adding: 'No bread, sugar!'
