Clayton County authorities have confirmed that a boy found in the trunk of a car on Tuesday moing is safe.

A spokesman for the Clayton County Fire Department said that the 9- year- old boy was found in the trunk of a car outside of a Department of Motor Vehicles office off Georgia 85 and Forest Parkway.

At an afteoon news conference, police announced they have charged Charlie Woods with cruelty to children, false imprisonment and reckless conduct and reckless driving.

According to the Clayton County Fire Chief, Jacque Feilke, the boy will be transported by medics to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston for observation.
