A DeKalb County judge revoked bond Monday for a martial arts instructor accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl, GA Daily News reported.

Adrian Spellen had been charged with assaulting the girl at his Taekwondo school, Powerkicks Martial Arts on Miller Road in Lithonia. The alleged assault is believed to have occurred at the martial arts studio between late May and early June of last year.

The victim told her mother what allegedly happened, the mother took the child to the hospital and called police, and Spellen was arrested June 25.

As a condition of his $100,000 bond, Spellen was not to have contact with children under 16. But the alleged victim’s uncle testified in court that he went to Spellen’s studio and saw Spellen around children.

Though Spellen’s defense attoey said the instructor didn’t come into contact with the children, DeKalb Superior Court Judge Clarence Seeliger said he was still troubled.

”By any stretch of the imagination, running a school and then appearing at the school after he has been accused of molesting a child who’s a victim and a student at that school is beyond the pale, Seeliger said.

Spellen has been booked into DeKalb County Jail.
