Bike thrown from I-75 overpass strike motorists

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- Authorities in Bartow County want to know who is hurling objects from an Interstate 75 overpass onto cars and trucks on the freeway below, including a bicycle that smashed into a Chevrolet Tahoe.

Authorities say the BMX bike was tossed from the overpass on Dec. 26, shattering the Tahoe's windshield and cutting driver Jeffrey Bassett's face. Authorities say two truckers have also reported smashed windshields from falling objects in late December and early January in the same area.

Bartow County sheriff's Sgt. Jonathan Rogers said anyone with information may call Cartersville-Bartow County Crimestoppers at 770-606-TIPS.
