BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. - A mother has been arrested in Bartow County after her 3-year-old child was found unresponsive in a pool.

According to the arrest warrant, Bobbie Jessica Prather, 32, was arrested around 6 p.m. Monday and charged with felony murder and four counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, according to deputies.

Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap said the incident happened at a home pool on Canter Lane in Cartersville just after 1:30 p.m. Monday. Firefighters said they tried to revive the young boy, but he had been under the water too long and was pronounced dead.

Millsap said there were three other children in the home were all taken into protective custody.
