Barnesville Police Arrest 3 in Killing of Student Danavan Bussey
BARNESVILLE, Ga. - Lamar County authorities say a student from Gordon College was shot and killed over the weekend, and three men are facing charges.
Police say the three men burst into an off-campus party at a house on Westchester Drive in Baesville early Sunday moing. They say one of the suspects shot 21-year-old Danavan Frank Bussy in the face, and he later died from his injuries.
Bussy was from Milledgeville. Police say he lived in the house where the shooting took place, and he had attended Gordon College for two and a half years. The college has set up counselors to help grieving students.
On Sunday, police arrested 17-year-old Shameik Spinks, 21-year-old Lekievius Eleby and 21-year-old Brice Smith in connection with the shooting. All three of the suspects are from Baesville, and two of the men live on the same street as the victim.
Spinks, Eleby and Smith are being held at the Lamar County Jail on charges of robbery and murder.
