Baby Found Dead in SW Atlanta Apartment
ATLANTA - Police are investigating a bizarre incident at an apartment in southwest Atlanta. A baby was found dead and his parents were found unconscious.
Police still have a lot of questions about what happened inside the apartment. Both parents were rushed to Grady Hospital. They were able to briefly talk to the father, but will have to talk to more thoroughly to get a true picture of what happened
"We did find an infant inside location who was deceased," said Lt. Paul Guerrucci of the Atlanta Police Department.
The boy was less than a year old. But he wasn't alone in the Mechanicsville apartment on Fulton Street. Police say the baby's parents were found in the bathroom, together in the bathtub, unconscious.
"They were inside the tub and there is water in the tub and there is a toaster nearby," said Guerrucci.
The parents were rushed to Grady hospital. Police say they were able to talk to the father briefly. Sources say the father told investigators his baby had, for some reason, stopped breathing. The parents were so distraught, they got into the bathtub with the toaster.

Investigators are waiting for autopsy results to determine how the baby died. They say there was no obvious sign of trauma.
"Processing the scene for anything that may have evidenciary value in the event there is any type of suspicious behavior that led to the death of the child," said Guerrucci.
Conceed neighbors waited for hours outside as police thoroughly went through the family's apartment.
"They kept to themselves. There wasn't nothing that anyone would suspect something like this would happen," said neighbor Laceltra Tucker.
It was certainly a tragic situation. It was the baby's grandmother who found the child and his parents.
