Authorities say a tip has led to the arrest of fugitive shooting suspect Matthew Terry in Wilmington, N.C.

Sandy Springs police say Terry shot his ex-girlfriend in March at Chastain Apartments on Roswell Road.

Investigators believe Terry was waiting for 38-year-old Shawn Crew as she arrived home.

Officers say an argument escalated and Terry shot Crew several times, including once in the face.

The couple has a 4-year-old son who was home at the time, but he was not hurt.

Crew survived the shooting and is recovering, according to police.

Terry is in jail awaiting extradition to Georgia.
